Description:
A NEW DATE IS ADDED TO THE SUMMER TOUR OF THE NEWYORKIAN PIANIST
After the announcement of the date at the Verona Jazz Festival, Peter Cincotti announces another stop in Italy for next summer: the New York pianist will be on Thursday 26th July at the La Versiliana Theater in Marina di Pietrasanta (LU). Tickets will be available on the official Ticketone circuit from 11 am on Tuesday 10 April; beware of unofficial sales channels.
Born in New York but with undeniable Italian roots, Cincotti spent most of his childhood going to school by day and playing in clubs at night. The legendary producer Phil Ramone was there one of those nights, and this circumstance led Ramone to produce the debut album by Cincotti which reached the top position in the Billboard jazz standings, making the then 18-year-old Cincotti the youngest to achieve this result. Since then, Peter has performed in the most prestigious venues in the world, from Carnegie Hall to L'Olympia in Paris, and has collaborated with artists of all kinds and backgrounds, from Andrea Bocelli to David Guetta. In his path, his lively writing style caught the attention of the 16 Grammy Awards winner David Foster, who produced Cincotti's third album East of Angel Town.
Long Way From Home is the title of the new album by Peter Cincotti, released on October 13th. Written, arranged and produced by Cincotti himself over a period of two years, Long Way from Home contains 12 tracks in which the musician naturally mixes pop, rock, blues and jazz in his unique and unmistakable style. It is his most personal album to date, and compared to his previous work Long Way From Home incorporates a more rhythmic piano playing with a pop fold. Never before have I used the piano this way. A few years ago I started to have ideas for an album that would bring a more active, more rhythmic piano into the modern music landscape, said Cincotti. If you tried to mix Billy Joel, Oscar Peterson and One Republic, the result would be something very close to this job.
Cincotti moved to the Jersey Shore to realize this project and this experience explains: At one point, every time I went to sleep, a new song appeared to me in every dream. So I woke up and wrote. Several tracks of this album have been written this way. I came to a point where I did not seem to compose, but to write what I felt was already there.
