These different experiences are now proposed by Antonella in a concert that touches on all her greatest successes, from “Vacanze romane” to the most recent “Echi d’infinito”, intertwining with her recent experiences (Western, Indian and African religious music, the atmospheres of Broadway and Portuguese fado). An all-round recital that amazes with its innovative arrangements and interpretations.
Friday, August 23
ROSSANA CASALE QUINTET
Almost Blue
The color blue is a metaphor for spirituality and transcendence, tranquility, silence and contemplation. The blues is born from the feeling of blue, which has its roots in the songs of slaves in the cotton fields, in the hope of freedom and revenge. Rossana Casale chooses the songs that jazz has dedicated to blue, ‘the color of colors’, as Miles Davis defined it, creating a new in-jazz project together with great interpreters of the genre, with long careers in Italy and abroad: Carlo Atti on tenor sax, Luigi Bonafede on piano, Enzo Zirilli on drums and Alessandro Maiorino on double bass.
