Description:
On display a series of recent oil paintings and china on paper: synthetic works of narrative cutting, featuring a tiny individual - the unmistakable protagonist of Taddei's works - that leads to a paradoxical existence, suspended between sky and sea. The artist proposes a metaphorical reading of the human condition, draining with subtle irony the sense of void and caducity that man can try in front of his destiny.
Born in Viareggio in 1964, Valente Taddei has a wealth of exhibited curriculum with numerous personal and collective activities both in Italy and abroad. He has produced illustrations for book covers (for types: Mauro Baroni Editore, Viareggio, Giulio Einaudi Editore, Turin, Alberto Gaffi Editore, Rome) and music CDs, for magazines (News Lavazza, Cfr :), for Internet sites. In 2008 he presented with 10 unpublished tables the essay Pandora, the first woman by Jean-Pierre Vernant, published by Einaudi in the 'L'Arcipelago' necklace. He has created the logo and official poster of the EuropaCinema 2013 edition, an international film festival based in Viareggio.
The exhibition, sponsored by the City of Viareggio, is included in the cycle of events The Sea in Bottle, curated by the Association of Friends of the Naval Museum of Viareggio.
It is organized in collaboration with the Mercurio Arte Contemporanea gallery in Viareggio and is cataloged with critical text by Marco Del Monte.
