Tresana: All you need to know
Tresana and Barbaresco are two localities in a same town. On July 14th, there is a big celebration in the honour of San Quirico who, according to the legend, was devoured by flies. On this date, a miracle repeats itself: on the day of the celebration, flies do not enter the church. District to be visited: the district of Giovagallo where one can see the ruins of the castle of Morello Malaspina and Magia Fieschi.
From Giovagallo to Tresana: the emperor Maximilian conceded to Tresana the privilege to mint money in 1577. In another district called Villa, there is a recently restored castle by Amalia, princess of Bavaria. There are also the remains of the old hospital, now restored and the Renaissance church of Saint Mary (Santa Maria).
