Description:

Saturday 6 July 2019 at 06:00pm,
at the Maritime Museum Alberto Gianni on the Lungo Canale Est 32 in Viareggio (Lu),
inaugurates Maybe a island, a solo exhibition by the painter Guido Morelli.
On display a cycle of recent oils on canvas.
These are refined works with a material imprint, in which synthetic seascapes are depicted: the latter, however, are not evocations of real places, but compositions in which what matters is the search for a form based on a game of responses and on a balance of spaces.
That of Morelli is a mental painting, in which the dimension of memory is emphasized: the artist focuses on a psychological language of the painting, moving away from the descriptive aspects and aiming at a pure fusion of colors and luminosity.
Guido Morelli - born in La Spezia in 1967, but for years residing in the province of Piacenza - has a large exhibition curriculum, with numerous personal and collective exhibitions throughout Italy and abroad.
Among the most significant awards to his painting is the acquisition of large-scale works by the Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa in 1998 and the MIM Museum in Motion of the Castle of San Pietro in Cerro (Pc) in 2008.
The exhibition, sponsored by the Municipality of Viareggio, is part of the The sea in a bottle cycle of events, organized by the Friends of the Maritime Museum of Viareggio.
It is organized in collaboration with the Mercurio Arte Contemporanea gallery in Viareggio and is accompanied by a catalog with a critical text by Rosella Tiadina.
It will remain open until 4 August 2019,
every day (except Monday)
with hours 06pm - 11pm.
